2018 Events @ the SWH
The Sibton White Horse Summer Festival – July 7/8/9th…..Our summer festival is a little earlier this year with the event taking place on the first weekend of July. As in previous years there will be a host of ales and ciders from around the country, the renowned SWH BBQ will be fired up delivering some foodie specials and there will be live music on each of the 3 days.
The festival doors open at 6pm on the Friday, later in the evening ‘Prism’ make a welcome return to the SWH. The 4 piece band with their mixture of covers from over the decades always provide great entertainment, be sure to wear your dancing shoes. Prism are on stage from 8pm.
Saturday’s live music is provided by ‘ The Groove Hunters’ a fairly new 3 piece rock covers band and is made up from local lads who frequent the SWH. I’m always nervous when booking a band on the back of a recommendation, but any fears I may have had are well behind me after seeing them perform recently at Pete Mabb’s 50th Birthday party. (Pete is the drummer in the band). These lively musicians will be performing from 8pm.
Festival Sunday is always special and has provided many lasting memories. What better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than listening to live music whilst sipping a cool drink and soaking up the sunshine. The weekend finishes with ‘Doctor and the Epics’ taking stage at 3pm. The 5 piece rock and pop covers band from Ipswich will perform a varied range of hits, such as ‘Mustang Sally, Superstition and Play That Funky Music’. Drummer Chris Bayfield is no stranger to the Summer Festival having appeared with other bands, his bands always provide great entertainment.
Rendham Mummers Performance – 14th July 8pm. The Rendham Mummers are back at the SWH to celebrate Bastille Day. Attired in their elaborate costumes the Mummers will perform ‘Brothers in Arms’. The play takes place in the courtyard and is free entry. There will be a hat collection with the proceeds going to the ‘Fresh Start – New Beginnings’ charity. The SWH BBQ will be providing some delicious plates including home-made steak burgers.
Shakespeare performance – 28th July 7.30pm. More details will be coming shortly – please revisit this page.
