Prosperous October
October 2011 proved to be a very memorable month for the White Horse team, two new accolades and a runner up position will take some beating. The disappointment of being beaten finalist in the ‘Taste of England’ (Suffolk region) was soon over come with two first places.
Ickworth House was the venue for the 2011 ‘Suffolk Food and Drink Awards’. Neil and Gill along with colleagues James and Gail were delighted to walk away with ‘Suffolk’s Best Food Pub 2011’. This was the third time in four years that the team had triumphed, losing out in 2010 when completion rules denied them entry. No other pub has won the competition more than once.
The very next day there was national recognition when the ‘2012 Good Pub Guide’ was published with the Sibton White Horse being named ‘County Dining Pub of the Year 2012’. There was plenty of media attention with firstly Neil and then head chef Michael going live on local radio, with DJ Lesley Dolphin taking a shine to Michael’s Glaswegian accent.
