So much to see and do in the Local Area

Smack Rally at SouthwoldSibton is great centre for exploring Suffolk - there is so much within a short drive! Framlingham with its famous castle and marketplace is just seven miles. The seaside at Southwold is only 13 miles away. Southwold is the quintessential old fashioned English seaside resort with its award winning new pier, genteel seafront, busy harbour, excellent shops and peaceful greens. Close to Southwold and just 11 miles from Sibton are both Dunwich, the ancient Roman city now largely beneath the waves, and Minsmere and the famous RSPB reserve.

A little further away are Aldeburgh and Thorpeness (14 miles) and Orford (16 miles) with Suffolk Cottagesanother famous castle as well as access by ferry to the National Trust Reserve of Orfordness. The cathedral city of Norwich is 25 miles to the north whilst Ipswich is just 20 miles south.

There are miles of local footpaths and walks starting just outside the door. This part of Suffolk has some lovely walks through woods and fields and beside streams and brooks. Sibton is just on the edge of the sandy coastal strip and so enjoys both the wide open skies and long vistas of the clay based "High Suffolk" and the heathy, sandy soils of the Sandlings with their heather and gorse.
