Your Hosts

As sure as the sun rises it is people that make or break a business, none more so than in the hospitality game. Your hosts Neil and Gill Mason are very much hands – on owner/operators and it is hard to imagine this is their first venture of this kind. Not afraid of long hours and hard work, it seems both Neil and Gill were made for the role; possessing natural ability to make success of a tired and neglected pub, whilst having the personal skills to make their guests feel immediately at home. The way they have seamlessly blended a traditional village country pub with top class food and overnight accommodation is something quite remarkable, many try without great success.

Their small team are friends as much as employees and that is why each and everyone makes a visitor feel like a friend too, evidently Neil and Gill’s friendly and relaxed but professional approach has rubbed off.

Neil and Gill acquired the business in August 2005, when along with their son Luke, they moved lock stock and barrel from their Leicestershire village, a home Gill thought she would see time out, how wrong she was.

Are you curious what they did before? Neil trained as a graphic designer and went onto have a successful design and print business, whilst Gill spent a good part of her working life in the Dental industry.
